Norman Stuart Clarke

Arguably one of Britains leading glass blowers. Norman Stuart Clarke began his career at Nazeing glassworks in Essex, where he was dubbed 'Master of the flames'. In 1978 he joined Peter Layton at London Glassblowing and began creating his own work, before moving to Cornwall to set up his own studio in 1983. Established at Praze an Beeble near Camborne, where he set up his kilns, demonstrated his work on open days and exhibited his beautifully blown and coloured art glass. The beautiful lustrous effects he was able to achieve are remeniscent of Tiffany and beyond. By the 1990s Clarke moved his studio to nearby St Erth, turning out an impressive volume of work, and taking student-apprentices.
